New Comic up at The Nashville Review

Dang! BUSY WEEK!  I have a new comic up at The Nashville Review. This was a big one for me.  I LOVE their comic choices.  I follow the footsteps of Jeffrey Brown, Lisa Brown, and Keiler Roberts.  Good company.

    Congrats, supercomicstar!
Yeah, just when I get a big attitude about figures on canvas in oil how PASSE (I was a visual artist and collective gallery director for years and saw so much CRAP), then I see those Alice Neel portraits and have to fall into a field of grass and wildflowers in a state of eat crow ecstasy.
Hey I just got two comics into http://hyperallergic.com/ and am so excited!

Congratulations, Summer! That’s wonderful!! (-: I can’t believe you wrote about Alice Neel! She is one of my favorite painters. I have several books of her paintings; currently have an upcoming book about her on pre-order from amazon since last December; and have watched the Alice Neel documentary several times. Perhaps you’ve already seen it; if not, you’ll be fascinated by it. I was always struck by the struggles she went through and how she did whatever she could to continue painting. To me, her black lines/outlines have an electricity to them just like Van Gogh’s thick paint strokes.

Jill- I’ve seen the documentary and have a fantasy of going to her empty apartment and just sitting there.
