You killed a MINT plant? It must have been ready to die anyway, they are indestructible. Gardening — it’s all trial and error. Throw down a bunch of stuff and something is bound to sprout and flourish. Make sure to grow some flowers!

Having a garden WILL change your life!!!! I’ve been gardening for coming up on 6 years now and I am still bothered with anxieties and self doubt, but I always end up with more that does well than that doesn’t. Just plunge on ahead. Being a gardener is kind of like being a parent. You don’t need any qualifications to become one, and you learn it as you go. Buying transplants (small tomato, pepper, whatever) plants from a nursery or big box store that are already ready to go in the ground will alleviate some of the anxiety because it’s reassuring to see things already growing. And any cucurbit (squash, cucumber) or any bean just plop the seed right into the ground. No experience required. You’ll be amazed at how much will take root, grow, and feed you. Good luck!!! I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now and I look forward to hearing about this new adventure.
