ok that was fun; each of those, even though I was trying pull them out of the air, is actually a story for me. Thank you!! Man, it would be interesting to compare one-pages on the same noun with a group of people, no?

I love your one-page stories, Summer! It’s amazing how something we think is innocuous can cut so deep. I remember commenting on a neighbor’s curly hair (which was normally straight) and asking how she got it so curly…”did you stick your finger in a light socket?” I didn’t think anything of the comment, was just trying to be cute and funny. Oh, but the look on her face. It was exactly as you described it: her face fell. Haunting, indeed.
